Terms of use

The rules for using PennyGroove, in plain words. By using the site, you agree to them.

Using PennyGroove

PennyGroove is a set of free guitar practice tools that run in your browser. You don’t need an account. Use it for your own practice, and for teaching. Please don’t:

  • try to break, overload or attack the site;
  • copy the site in bulk with automated tools;
  • use it to break the law, or anyone else’s rights.

YouTube lessons

Lessons from YouTube play through YouTube API Services, in YouTube’s own player. By using YouTube features on PennyGroove, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s privacy policy applies to them too; the privacy page has the details.

Lessons belong to their creators. PennyGroove credits them, links back to YouTube, and never downloads or copies their videos. Videos whose creators don’t allow them to be played on other sites can’t be used.

Your own videos, and what you make

Video files you open, and the loops, chords, charts and exercises you make, stay in your browser and remain yours. PennyGroove never receives them and claims no rights over them. Only open video files you’re allowed to use.

Your practice data

Because your library, loops and progress live in your browser, they’re only as safe as its storage. Clearing this site’s data, browsing in a private window, or switching to another browser or computer can lose them, and PennyGroove has no copy to bring them back.

PennyGroove’s own content

The site’s design, code, text, name and logo belong to PennyGroove. You’re welcome to link to any page and to share pictures of your own practice. Please don’t copy the site, or present it as your own.

What PennyGroove can promise

PennyGroove is provided as it is. It’s built with care, but there’s no guarantee that it will always be available, that it’s free of mistakes, or that the tuner, timing and other results are exact.

As far as the law allows, PennyGroove isn’t responsible for any loss that comes from using it, including lost practice data. Nothing here takes away rights you have by law as a consumer.

Changes

PennyGroove may add, change or remove features, and may update these terms. When they change, the date below changes too. If a change matters to how you use the site, such as accounts or paid features, the site will say so before it takes effect.
